Honduras. A surveillance system consisting of 40 security cameras was inaugurated in October by Honduran Security Minister Óscar Álvarez and San Pedro Sula Mayor Juan Carlos Zúñiga.This solution is part of a project called Safe City, which seeks to provide, through electronic security systems, the protection that some sites that the localities require.
The cameras will be monitored from a command center and will cover the most insecure spaces where the police need to maintain continuous control, so that when an emergency action is detected, the nearest patrols will be notified of the situation and sent to cover the event.
This project contemplates the installation of another 26 cameras that are being placed in the city, but the authorities expect that by the end of November there will be 80 or 100 devices throughout the town.
The video surveillance system is characterized by having automatic view of videos, monitoring of alarm inputs, audio output and input, redundant recording in cameras and recorders, recognition of vehicle plates and faces of people, panoramic view of the supervised point and video stabilization.
