In order to increase surveillance and improve its security controls, the Mexican company Compusoluciones (CS) is integrating the digital security systems of another Mexican company: Smart Control.

Mexico, like most countries in the Latin American region, is experiencing complex security realities, which has forced the different companies in the region, and especially those of this nation, to increase their investments in security in order to efficiently and safely monitor the different production processes that are carried out within the organizations.
Another element that adds in the determination to adopt systems of this type is the possibility of protecting yourself from external factors that in some way may also violate the proper functioning within the company.
For the present case, Compusoluciones, a partner of large companies such as Cisco and HP, provides equipment to companies and offers different web-based services. Due to the characteristics of the business, the need to strengthen the existing security systems with Smart Control (SC) equipment was detected, to have a better control both in the income and in strengthening the security of the building and offering protection to the personnel who work in CS.
Preventive purpose
As stated above, the characteristics of the business and the facilities of the company, forced the managers to make the decision to invest in a surveillance system that would allow, in addition to seeing what happens, to have a better control of the permits to restricted areas.
A system of this nature helps prevent theft or emergencies such as fire, because you can see people's behavior and detect which areas are most vulnerable. In addition, the presence of cameras has an inhibiting effect in the case of robberies.
"Fortunately they have never had an accident, however they recognize that it is more important to prevent and invest in this type of solutions, so that is why we are working on this new system," says Margarita Limas, executive of new projects of Smart Control.
State-of-the-art technology
"It's a unique system and much more robust than the one you had; is adapted to the needs of CS", says Margarita Limas, who also adds that "we use advanced equipment, certified worldwide".
"It is an integral system", explains the executive of new Smart Control projects, where IP cameras, proximity readers, control modules of alarm inputs and outputs and Palm Secure RFID readers are being used, the latter have the "Common Criteria" certification, which recognizes the system with the required level of security, according to the criteria established worldwide to verify the security of information in technological products.
Due to the technology that is required and the characteristics of it, there is no other similar system on the market, even within Smart Control "it is a different system, although all the equipment is ours the structure and requirements are completely different from others in which we have worked. All systems always focused on customer needs," says Limas.
The new security system of Compusoluciones will be communicated with the structure of the fire alarms, so in case of an emergency, when the alarm is activated, the sprinklers in the area of the accident will be turned on and the system will enable the accesses for an easy and quick evacuation.
On the characteristics of the system, Margarita Limas explains: "we are taking advantage of the surveillance system they already had, which is also Smart Control, with that plus the new accessories such as biometric readers, card readers for income, and added to the IP cameras to monitor areas that were not being monitored before, all this together with Video Analytics, we will have a complex and efficient security system."
In the future
With this new video surveillance and access control system, CS will perform a better inspection of restricted areas, will be able to activate its alarm systems automatically in case of an accident and in general will have a better surveillance of the building 24 hours a day. In addition, the new system will provide information by joining the data obtained by video recording and access control, one more advantage of having Smart Control systems.
