by Duván Chaverra Agudelo

Her time in important companies in the sector has allowed Alejandrina Brito to accumulate a great experience that today applies in the best way her work as Commercial Director of the company Tenco Integración de Sistemas, S.A. de C.V., a Mexican company to which she arrived in 2014.

But before Tenco, Alejandrina, who arrived in Mexico City at the age of 8 from the State of Guerrero, was gaining experience with each company with which she had the opportunity to contribute her knowledge and strategies. With only 16 years of age he had already got his first job and formally began his working life with the company ABC y Asociados as an assistant sales coordinator.

Later he worked with the company Iprose, but it was when he arrived at the Central Alarm Group, where he held the position of Special Projects Manager, that our Professional of the Month felt that his career within the security industry had taken off thanks to his participation in important projects.

Later her professional career added companies such as Foxboro, working in the Building Automation Division as a Business Development Manager, where her first contact with the world of automation marked for her a point of reference. He then joined Secutronex; he also accepted the offer from Verynt Systems, where he stayed for five years. Later came the opportunity to represent Indigovision in charge of the Regional Management of Mexico for a period of five years and then change of scenery and collaborate with Avigilon, under the position of Sales Director for Latin America. Now, and since 2014, our guest represents Tenco.

"I am particularly proud to belong to this organization because I fully identify with its values and admire the way in which its leaders relate to all employees, promoting and providing all the facilities to achieve common goals by valuing and respecting each one as an individual," said Alejandrina.

After this important review of his career that shows many positive aspects, we will now learn details of his experience, his vision of the industry and his leadership with his team and other colleagues in the security sector.

Security Sales: What motivated you to stay in this industry?
Alejandrina Brito: This industry caught me, even when I knew it was a great challenge, since it is a segment dominated mainly by men and I was one of the first women who began to make their way and earn a place, and I dare say that in some way this contributed so that more and more women were motivated to occupy positions of relevance in important companies today.

I stayed in this industry because I love my job, I am passionate about it and because I enjoy dealing with people from different latitudes and with different ideas, which in addition to being a great challenge, I find an enriching and wonderful experience.

VDS: What are your personal and professional challenges?
Alejandrina: Professionally I want to continue working and contribute my experience and knowledge so that the company where I currently work is positioned as the number one integrator in Latin America.

As far as my personal life is concerned, I always stay in a constant challenge, I set goals and I always strive to achieve them. I feel satisfied and proud to have a stable family and see my children formed, as this was always a priority for me and one of the biggest challenges of my life.

VDS: What challenges do you face as a professional from the point of view of the relationship with employees and collaborators?
Alejandrina: One of the most important challenges is to form stable, motivated, happy work teams with the necessary strength to face competitors and overcome the challenges posed by the times we are living today, and where we have to provide better customer service and better quality in the projects we work, since this is what generates the differentiation that contributes to our projects being selected within a market that increasingly demands better results and better proposals.

VDS: What do you think are the reasons for your recognition in this market?
Alejandrina: On the one hand, I consider that recognition is earned through the results that one gives within the companies in which one collaborates, and on the other hand, I would not be able to tell you the level of recognition I have in this market, but I can assure you that throughout my career I have always acted responding to the trust that the companies for which I have worked have placed in me, assuming the commitment of the objectives set and always conducting myself with the professional ethics that this deserves.

VDS: From your point of view, how have you seen the evolution that the industry has had in your country in the years you have been working in it?
Alejandrina: Undoubtedly, technological advances have had a very important impact. Mexico is very influenced by the trends coming from the United States, and this drives more and more rapidly, to implement in our country new technologies such as video analytics for places with a large concentration of people, cloud solutions, Artificial Intelligence, to name a few.

VDS: How do you see the future of this industry in terms of threats, demand, technological advances and applications and possibilities for expansion in Latin America?
Alejandrina: Security is now a priority in all areas due to the wave of violence faced by most countries in Latin America and as a consequence manufacturers must be prepared to respond to demand with increasingly efficient technologies. Integrators, on the other hand, must be at the forefront for its correct implementation.

VDS: Do you remember any anecdotes you learned from for your professional or personal life?
Alejandrina: Yes, a person once told me, "We need hunters not farmers"... and now that I think about it and reflect, I was very right, because if we want to achieve our goals we need to consider that "we are going for the big fish", and this applies both professionally and personally, that is, we are going for everything!

Family and other passions
Alejandrina Brito is the oldest of 5 siblings. She was married and has 2 children who are already professional and independent. He also loves pets and that is evident because he has three dogs and a cat as his company: "They are also part of my family and I am a fervent defender of companion animals."

On the other hand, one of his greatest passions in life is traveling and having a good glass of wine. He also enjoys exercising outdoors, doing yoga, reading and watching television series. "I also like soccer and my favorite team are the pumas of the UNAM," says the professional.

Alejandrina also knows herself inside and highlights her best qualities: "I think that my perseverance and the search for transcendence is what I like most about myself. What I like least is that there are times when I have a hard time finding the balance between my personal and professional life."

Finally, he shares with us a thought that he had in his childhood and that he has been able to fulfill with pride: "When I work I want to travel around the world."
