According to Microsoft data, one in fourteen programs downloaded by Windows users turns out to be malicious. And even though Microsoft has functionality in its Internet Explorer browser designed to keep users safe from any unknown and potentially dangerous software, about 5 percent of users ignore warnings about it and download Trojan programs to their computers.Five years ago, it was quite easy for criminals to get their code into computers. There were a lot of bugs in the browsers and many users were not very good at solving those problems. But since then, the cat-and-mouse game of internet security has evolved. Browsers are becoming increasingly secure and software manufacturers can quickly and automatically introduce patches when a problem is reported.
