Why is he old? Because it was born in 1996 and, to be a software, that's a long time! Why is he loved? Because it is an excellent, simple, effective and very powerful tool! Netcat is a program that allows us to read and write data using TCP and UDP connections: this will be very helpful both to use it as an individual program and to complement it with other tools.
Some of the things we're going to be able to do with Netcat are: scan ports, transfer files, caputrate banners, redirect ports, and open backdoors.
As it allows us to do so many things, this tool must be present in each team destined to perform penetration tests, vulnerability analysis, ethical hacking and any other type of fun activity.
