04/05/2011. The Government of Mexico City will implement special operations, with the participation of two thousand 500 elements, to guarantee security in the city during the marches that will be held this Thursday, May 5 and next Sunday, May 8.
The secretaries of Government, José Ángel Ávila Pérez, and of Public Security, Manuel Mondragón, assured that the city is ready to safeguard order in these mobilizations, since they warned that no act of violence will be tolerated, especially by the members of the SME.
At a press conference, Ávila Pérez said that although the DF government is respectful of the right to demonstrate, it puts above the need to protect the security of the capital.
Therefore, he said, any act that puts the security of the city at risk and compromises the integrity of the population will be sanctioned, while the Secretary of Public Security warned that acts of violence will not be tolerated and those who commit them will be consigned to the Public Ministry.
Manuel Mondragón said that to safeguard security in Mexico City during the marches that will be held on May 5 and 8, there will be the presence of two thousand 500 elements of the Auxiliary, Sectoral and Banking police, 400 road agents and the support of helicopters.
The officials urged the capitals to take their forecasts before the two marches that various social organizations will hold this Thursday, May 5, at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. from the Angel of Independence to the Zócalo capital, to demand a stop to corruption, impunity and bloodshed in our country.
