It has been confirmed that the source code of the well-known Zeus malware (Explode.) is still in circulation through the Internet, with forecasts of a possible and imminent wave of attacks, according to the company Trusteer.
It is suspected that the creator has put the source code up for sale, since the code has been seen for sale, and even available for download on exchange networks, although in this case, the downloaded file is password protected.
The main problem with the expansion of Zeus' source code is that new toolkits will soon be designed that will go far beyond existing tools.
It should be remembered that Zeus caused many infections in large companies and government agencies during 2007. In addition, the malware was capable of infecting computer equipment and mobile terminals, becoming, according to experts, one of the five most fearsome exploits of the last decade.
