27/02/2011. Berlin.- The so-called Cloud Computing will be at the heart of this year's edition of CEBIT, one of the most important technology fairs in the world that will start tomorrow in Hannover.
Cloud Computing is the workhorse of CEBIT that hopes to show a resurgence this year, after having had several difficult editions, marked by the economic crisis that led to a reduction in the number of exhibitors.
Cloud computing is something that for some time has been part of the daily life of everyone who has to do with computers and normal users have to do with it when, for example, they open their email from a foreign computer.
Next to this simple application, there are many others of interest to companies that allows them, moving part of their software to the electronic cloud, to reduce their infrastructure costs and maintenance of it.
Some consortia such as Google or Salesforce have been betting for years on cloud computing and now also Microsoft, the largest exhibitor of CEBIT, wants to intensify its activities in that direction.
Thus, for example, tomorrow the head of Microsoft for Germany, Ralph Haupter, will present at CEBIT 12 theses on the Cloud.
CeBIT this year wants to open up a little more to the general public, after in previous years it concentrated mainly on activities that aroused the interest of entrepreneurs and researchers.
The fair will be divided into four areas: PRO, dedicated to companies, Gov, dedicated to public administrations, Lab, focused on research, and Life, which aims at ordinary citizens.
The guest of honor this year will be Turkey and the Prime Minister of that country, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will officially open the Fair tomorrow together with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
