Sometimes P2P users, including personnel with access to sensitive information, accidentally share their private files when using this type of network or make them available to other users under the assumption that not being known on download sites will not be located by third parties.
We would find ourselves facing the digital version of the accidental loss of information that has always existed. Although there have also been cases in which confidential files are intentionally leaked in P2P networks, either by disgruntled employees or intruders who extract data from compromised systems. An example would be the recent publication of the source code of Kaspersky antivirus.
According to the Bloomberg article, the company Tiversa, a P2P network monitoring company, would have identified Swedish computers associated with Wikileaks that would have carried out searches and downloads of sensitive US military documents exposed on the network, including information from the U.S. Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center. Now, to what extent could this situation affect our country?
