The vulnerability was posted on the MacRumors forum by a New Zealand iPhone user who discovered a sequence of keystrokes that rendered the code lock useless.
When your iPhone is locked with an Emergency Call hit code, then enter a non-emergency number such as ###. Then hit the call button and immediately the lock button. You will need to open the Phone app where you can see all your contacts, call any number, etc.
I tested this on my iPhone which is completely updated and confirmed that this works as they say.
It's not the first time that iPhone code has been disabled with a few keystrokes.
