The innovative developments to improve and increase security in electronic passports that have been created by HID Global, together with its partners Dlrs Group and X Infotech, represent the beginning of a new type of protection that can be implemented by Latin American countries that are making the change from traditional passports to electronic ones for some years such as Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Panama and Venezuela, among others.
These developments are characterized by having the latest identification technology, as well as particular components of each country, achieving tools that ensure the legitimacy of each document.
An electronic passport with these characteristics has already been created and produced for Ireland by HID Global and its partners Dlrs Group and X Infotech, This passport won the Regional Identification Document Award 2014, at the High Security Printing Conference in Milan.
The Irish electronic document is characterized by being more attractive and secure than the previous one, it combines the latest security technology with the selected images that represent the culture, history and people of Ireland. For both the issue of security and culture, the passport has the printed image of the emblematic archaeological site Brú na Bóinne, as well as writings by the most renowned poets of the nation, such as Nuala ni Dhomhnaill, William Butler Yeats and James Orr.
A prominent security feature is the images that border each couple of pages, which when folded together to put the edges together, a complete image can be appreciated.
