Latin America. With the introduction of the Videojet 3000 decoder and the Videojet 7000 decoder, Bosch expands its family of set-top boxes with two new solutions for streaming video from high-quality HD IP cameras on large flat-screen monitors or monitor walls.
While providing various display options, both set-top boxes are designed to work without the need for a PC or additional software to decode the video signals. In this way, they support an economic upgrade of video surveillance systems during the transition to IP technology. This also allows for easy installation, plus the firmware can be updated remotely, so the set-top boxes are always up to date.
The Videojet 3000 decoder solves a problem increasingly present in video systems: the use of the latest IP cameras as a source, while analog technology is still used in display monitors. Videojet 3000 closes this gap and enables Full HD quality at the decoding stage.
The Videojet 3000 decoder allows the display of H.264 video with encoding of up to 60 frames per second in PAL, NTSC or high definition sources over IP networks. It is capable of decoding a single stream of HD video in full-screen format or up to four SD video streams simultaneously in quad mode. Since it directly powers an HDMI display, the set-top box is ideal for applications such as flat panel monitors. Alternatively, it can be connected to an analog monitor via the BNC composite video output. In addition, the set-top box provides a two-way audio communication channel in parallel to the video stream.
With its Matrix IP license option, supporting an IntuiKey keyboard, as well as integration into video clients and video management systems, the Videojet 3000 decoder adapts to solutions ranging from the smallest, to large or distributed but centrally controlled applications.
The Videojet 7000 decoder displays standard and high definition video from cameras and encoders. In addition to the functions offered by the Videojet 3000 set-top box, it can handle two high-definition displays directly, each with a separate display configuration, making it especially suitable for flat-panel monitor walls. In addition, any type of video stream and resolution can be decoded and scaled into the desired video window with the highest degree of clarity. Simplified viewing of camera footage supports security personnel to focus on video content rather than having to overcome technical limitations.
The system runs on an embedded operating system, along with the HD-compatible VideoSDK 5-based wall monitor software, both of which accommodate high-definition video decoding.
"These new members of our VIDEOJET family of set-top boxes support the convenient viewing of high-resolution IP video streams and thus increase the situational awareness of surveillance personnel," explains Harold Van Den Oetelaar, Product Marketing Manager at Bosch Security Systems. "And, by eliminating the need for a PC and additional software, resources are also freed up for other security investments, such as migrating analog to new high-definition digital monitors."
The two set-top boxes replace their predecessors VIP XD and VIP-XDHD.
