Latin America. Three-dimensional technology enables more accurate counting of customers in stores, shopping malls, banks, airports, hospitals and gyms. The equipment works discreetly in environments with a ceiling height of 2.40 m
Axis Communications, a Swedish manufacturer in the video surveillance sector, created a device to capture three-dimensional images with the ability to accurately count the flow of people in stores, supermarkets, banks and airports. When installed on the ceiling, the new AXIS P8804 stereo sensor kit creates maps that take into account the height of objects of interest, thus avoiding counting irrelevant items, such as carts on the market.
When combined with TrueView 3D People Counter software from Cognimatics, a company acquired by Axis in 2016, the solution generates accurate functional analysis. Reports are automatically issued in various formats such as Excel files.
Axis' sensor kit solution with Cognimatics software also allows you to overcome 3d situations that previously affected the exact count, such as shadows, sunlight or a large flow of people heading to the same place. AXIS P8804 takes into account the height of objects of interestMaterials such as merchandising, screens or display points are no obstacle for this 3D technology to perform people counting.
Another benefit is the installation of the equipment, which can be discreetly located in environments with a ceiling height of 2.40 m, while the previous solution (2D) requires a minimum height of 2.70 m. To eliminate the need for a computer, Cognimatics software is fully processed on the kit hardware, within the concept of analytics built into the camera.
As an open platform, AXIS P8804 kit will feature software from other Axis partners in the future. Axis P8804 Stereoscopic Counting Kit is now available through axis' channel network in South America.
