Innovative video surveillance technology for small businesses

Latin America. According to recent data from INEGI (National Institute of Statistics and Geography), 97.6% of companies in Mexico are microenterprises and concentrate 75.4% of the total employed personnel. It is followed by small companies, which are 2% and have 13.5% of the staff employed.

The medians represent 0.4% of the economic units and have more than 11% of the employed. These generate 52% of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), so it is strategic to think about their constant evolution. Although the growth of businesses depends on different factors, in this digital age, the use and implementation of technology is undoubtedly the differentiator that keeps them highly competitive. On the other hand, Mexican companies are facing daily challenges that directly impact them, one that is basic for the profitability and growth of business is security.

Against this background, Axis Communications launches a new line focused on responding to the particular security needs of the small business sector. AXIS Companion Line is comprehensive, highly reliable, and has full technical support for distributors and installers serving small businesses. This equipment facilitates the installation of a video surveillance network system, making it more profitable and reducing risks for businesses such as stores, restaurants and offices that have basic security needs for their employees, customers, premises and products.

AXIS Companion Line's available IP cameras feature a range of features for a variety of uses, including day/night video surveillance with integrated infrared (IR) indoor and outdoor lighting. They also have high quality video with Full-HDTV resolution, or resolutions up to 2 megapixels and provide Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology for complicated lighting situations. The cameras include Axis' award-winning Zipstream technology that reduces bandwidth and storage space. The devices incorporate a microSD card input that can be used in combination with a microSDXC card designed to support video recording. All hardware comes with a three-year Axis warranty. The network cameras and recorder in this new line are for the exclusive use of AXIS Companion's mobile app and video management software.

AXIS Companion Line features 8-channel recorders and a built-in PoE switch to make installation more accessible. It is a device with a video surveillance hard drive and whose design does not require a fan. It also incorporates a USB port for easy export of video recordings and a wireless access point so that they can connect with the system to mobile devices.  The video management software simplifies installation and use through the iOS or Android mobile app. This allows that a computer is no longer required during the installation of the system and its subsequent uses. The app enables users to securely access recordings and operate cameras remotely from their cell phones or other mobile devices.

"We have met many times with small companies that do not decide to implement network security solutions because of the price, maintenance and because they believe that the change will be very complex. Faced with this situation, our answer is a competitive offer of cameras, storage and software of superior quality that solves all your needs and adapts specifically to your budgets. We've created a top-notch yet easy-to-use solution so small business owners can focus on what's really important and stop worrying about how their security system works. The features included in AXIS Companion Line give them the peace of mind they need," says Francisco Ramírez, Country Manager for Mexico, caribbean and Central America.
