Latin America. Video analytics is now offered as standard, rather than an optional feature without the need for an extra cost or license payment on all Bosch IP cameras.
The growing demand on the high level of detail, 24/7 video images produces a huge amount of data, which requires transmission, extensive storage capacity as well as time spent monitoring and evaluating. With this in mind, Bosch has announced the launch of video analytics within the cameras which means the edge feature as a standard. To power existing and future IP cameras with this technology, Bosch will allow users to effortlessly search through large amounts of video data and identify the information that interests them most.
As of October 2016: Video Analytics on edge as a standard feature.
Over the next 12 months, the full portfolio of Bosch IP cameras such as the IP 4000 series will come fully equipped with edge video analytics. The starlight camera family will be the first to introduce a complete 15-pack of the new Essential Video Analysis, starting with the DINION IP starlight 6000 fixed cameras and the FLEXIDOME IP starlight 6000 dome cameras. The top segment of the IP 7000 and IP 8000 starlight line will come equipped with the new Bosch state-of-the-art Video Analysis that offers up to 17 different analytics possibilities.
Add senses and structure to video data
Video analytics inside the camera creates an intelligent security system, using metadata which involves adding senses and structure to the video data at the capture point (at the edge) and allowing each to operate independently. The decentralization of intelligence makes it possible to eliminate a single point of failure (a central analysis server), which means that if a camera or encoder fails, the system can continue to function at full performance. With the included (edge) analysis, every camera on the network will be able to interpret captured video data and alert users to security threats based on configurable triggers.
