Hikvision launches the new panoramic cameras of the PanoVu series

International. Hikvision, the world's leading provider of innovative video surveillance solutions and products, is pleased to announce the launch of its new PanoVu series panoramic cameras. The cameras offer 180- and 360-degree video, without distortion and with ultra-definition quality, which seamlessly integrates video, coming from several sensors, into a single unit. If we add to this the powerful intelligent tracking features (Smart Tracking) of the PanoVu series, the link to PTZ and the approach to images of up to 36x (optical zoom) and 16x (digital zoom), the ease of its installation and configuration and its performance in conditions of very little light, the result is the best equipped state-of-the-art panoramic solution on the market.

The PanoVu series, designed for large-scale security monitoring applications such as stadiums, city centers, airports and parking lots, allows users to replace multiple cameras with a multi-sensor unit, cutting costs and reducing technical complexity. The traditional surveillance solution for these types of 180- or 360-degree scenes would typically require multiple cameras and video link software on the server to combine the images and create a unique panoramic image. Hikvision's PanoVu series is an all-in-one solution that integrates multiple sensors into the single unit, because there's no need for video linking software.

The integrated design of PanoVu cameras allows for only one Ethernet and one power cable, simplifying installation and configuration. The cameras have also been designed to offer easy-to-preview images to aid setup and drastically reduce maintenance times and costs.

Hikvision's low-light color image quality is industry-leading, and the PanoVu series cameras are no exception. All units feature Hikvision's Dark Eye ultra-wide aperture lenses, and offer the same performance in low-light situations as the DarkFighter series. They are capable of capturing very detailed color images with high resolution in light conditions of just 0.002 luxes, which means that it is possible to have permanent 360-degree monitoring, essential for high-risk locations such as open public spaces in urban centers.

Smart tracking means PanoVu cameras can be paired to an additional camera with PTZ tracking, allowing PanoVu's powerful zoom capabilities to magnify minute details in the panoramic image. Intelligent tracking allows simultaneous tracking of several targets, both in automatic and manual tracking mode. The cameras also come equipped with a wide range of intelligent functions, including intrusion detection, line crossing detection, and area entry and exit detection.

The PanoVu series cameras come in 8 MP, 180-degree, and 16 MP, 360-degree variants, allowing users to select the ideal model for their surveillance applications. The 16 MP and 360 degree models employ 8 1/1.9" progressive scan CMOS image sensors to create their panoramic images, while the 8 MP models incorporate four sensors to generate their 180-degree images. All PanoVu series cameras have IP66 degree of protection, for use in a wide variety of weather conditions and applications.

Hikvision PanoVu was awarded the "Golden Excellence Award" at the 15th China Public Security Expo and the 2016 iF Design Award.
