International. 3xLOGIC, Inc., a leading provider of integrated smart security solutions, announced that Fort Bend County, Texas, has begun deploying Intelli-M infinity access control, by 3xLOGIC, to more than 30 different buildings and facilities throughout the county. Air Control Digital is the integrator and installer for this ongoing project.
"Right now, we have 800 to 900 doors and gates in two different systems," explained Justin Zwahr, Facilities Maintenance Manager. "We were looking to install an integrated system that we can scale up for 1,500 doors, because we're getting requests to add doors to the system all the time."
The county has a total of 186 buildings and access control is installed in more than 30 of the most important prisons, as well as in the Justice Center, fuel depots, two cell towers, and others. "In addition to unifying all of our access under one system, we were looking for an easy-to-maintain IP solution and one that we're not being squeezed all the time in," said Kevin Bulman, Facilities Lead Electronics Technician of the County.
Fort Bend has about 10 locations on the new system so far and work continues to install the network infrastructure needed to accommodate the IP-based solution. Under the old systems, each main place was made by its own administration. Bulman and Zwahr intend to simplify the number of administrators and move to more central management, as time passes.
Plans for a complete system rotation to the infinias-based IP access control solution Intelli-M by mid-2016.
