International. Tyco Security Products, part of Tyco, launched the new version of the victor video management system (VMS), which significantly reduces the time it takes for busy investigators to organize, manage events and create incident reports.
The case management tool makes possible the holistic management of alarms, reports and alarms associated with video material, as well as investigations in access control systems, intrusion detection, fire prevention, intercoms, elevators and HVAC. Through an intuitive interface, command center operators can now view, manage and reproduce alarms when required and from any location. The incident builder feature can collect all relevant information — videos, still images, report data, graphs, and user notes — into a template and export it as an incident report for either internal, management, or external use by law enforcement agencies. Instead of the time-consuming process of creating a folder, manually writing a report, transcribing notes, exporting images and figures, burning a CD, etc., you can create a report with just a few clicks.
Recently, St. Joseph's Health Care Hospital, London, Ontario, migrated from an analog system to an IP video management system with victor technology, seeking to respond to incidents in a more agile way. "Victor's new investigative tools have greatly streamlined our investigation workflow and simplified the steps our operators need to take to locate, review and aggregate relevant information about a given incident," said Mike Bessagato, director of the health agency's fire safety and prevention and emergency planning services department. "Case management tools are not only helping our security control center operators save time, but they are also helping to ensure the accuracy of our evidence by removing video material that is not directly related to an investigation."
"Having the most important information about your organization available in a single interface is no longer a luxury for operators and researchers, who need quick access to this data," said Mauricio Cañas, Product and Marketing Manager of the Video Line at Tyco Security Products. "The improvements we made to the victor system allow us to offer a comprehensive case management solution that brings together all the relevant details about an event, or threat, in a single, easily accessible format."
