Latin America. American Dynamics introduces the latest version of its VideoEdge network video management system (NVMS), with a broad feature set and designed for users with active surveillance needs. The new system is unmatched in the industry, particularly in the corporate segment.
VideoEdge is in itself a powerful solution in terms of video performance and network bandwidth management. To further bolster its power, the latest version of VideoEdge adds a new transcoding engine, which offers 14 video streams per network video recorder (NVR), allowing optimal use of bandwidth, as well as optimizing CPU resources and memory usage. This handy feature allows users to bring together different NVRs to get up to 84 dynamic H.264 video streams per NVR pool without needing to have a specialized transcoding server, something no other NVMS can do.
"It often happens that when new features and functions are added to a system, there is a gradual decrease in ease of use for users," said Mauricio Cañas, Product and Marketing Manager of the Video Line at Tyco Security Products. "But in this case, I'm pleased to say that VideoEdge offers both ease of installation and configuration, as well as a user interface that is incredibly intuitive... and at the same time provides more features than most enterprise-grade NVMS."
VideoEdge provides security to businesses, while allowing users to remotely operate the system using the powerful iOS mobile app or web client via any HTML 5.0 browser. This is critical for any user interested in getting real-time information, no matter where they are. This philosophy of strengthening the management capacity of users is reinforced by VideoEdge's extensive library of analysis tools, among which the functions of evaluation of the extension of rows of people, the formation of agglomerations and the recognition of colors stand out. Row monitoring can trigger an alarm if there are too many people waiting at a cash register, while the crowd formation feature can send an alert if a crowd gets too large. Finally, using the color recognition function, operators can now narrow down the search results of recorded video to search, for example, for a vehicle of a specific color or an individual wearing a garment of a certain color.
VideoEdge has been endorsed with the certificate of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA, for its acronym in English) for commercial and government users, by complying with the most important cybersecurity requirements of said law.
