Colombia. Powernet, a global engineering brand in telecommunications and IT systems integration, with 25 years of presence in the world market, ventures into Colombia through infrastructure improvement projects and data processing centers in different regions. Recently, he inaugurated the first project of installation and improvement of the DataCenter of the Mayor's Office of Tunja in Boyacá.
The modernization of the data center of the capital of Boyaca will protect, store, process and safeguard the information, which had an investment of 240 million pesos, for the installation of new servers, wiring, connections, security cameras, fire detection and extinction system, applications of tax issues, voice and data networks, among others.
For his part, Daniel Villamizar, commercial director of Powernet Colombia, the company in charge of the remodeling and structuring of the center, said: "A DataCenter is a data center, the heart of all the information of any public or private entity. Its great importance is due to the fact that all information of a company is housed there. In the Tunja DataCenter, an improvement was made based on the practices of different regulations that exist worldwide."
With the presence of the Mayor of Tunja, Fernando Flórez Espinosa, the inauguration and official delivery of the 'DataCenter' of the Mayor's Office of Tunja was held. In this regard, the local president said: "this technological advance will allow us to safeguard all the information of the Mayor of the city of Tunja. This is a step that we also take in the fight against corruption because definitely shielding the processes is something that we set out to do and that is part of the Development Plan."
This first project is part of a set of projects that the company has undertaken in different regions of Colombia, as a great contribution to the design and construction of DataCenters, virtualization, electrical projects, integral maintenance, energy saving and structured cabling, among others, to improve infrastructure practices.
