The list of the top 10 spamming countries in the world includes Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina and Colombia, according to a report published by security firm McAfee.In the record of the third quarter of 2009, the United States occupies the first place with 25% of spam production, followed by Brazil with 12.1% and India with 5.3%. Venezuela ranks sixth with 3.1%, Argentina eighth and Colombia ninth with 2.2% and 1.9%, respectively. Among latin countries, Brazil is the one that has presented the most growth.
McAfee explains that the main issues of the emails are medicines with 34%, delivery service notifications are the second type with 25.4%, the third is occupied by diplomas with 11.2%, followed by weight loss messages (5.3%), bets, counterfeits, among others.
According to the report, spam exceeded the record set during the second half of 2009 by 10%, making up 92% of all electronic messages. When comparing the number of spam emails issued in the same period of 2008, the present one exceeds it by 24%.
