United States. According to the Internet Threat Report published by Secure Computing Corporation Q2, the United States is the main sender of spam emails, although these and the new zombies have decreased in the last quarter; business and home users are increasingly attacked by harmful web content and combined security attacks. The report says that when comparing the overall volume of spam emails is up to 280% when looking at Q2 2007 with Q2 2008, however, the volumes of these emails have decreased by 40% this quarter. In addition, Q2 2007 testified to more than 300,000 new zombies daily, and during the second quarter of 2008 Secure observed half of that amount.
For experts there are other points to take into account such as that Russia is the second country that emits spam after the United States; Swizzor (spyware and advertising), has had a rapid growth and produces more than 30% of all new harmful programs in Q2 of 2008. The ZBot Spyware family has grown significantly, stealing sensitive user data while establishing a "backdoor" on infected computers to give attackers full control over compromised systems, and 50 percent of all websites are currently published in languages other than English.
