Uruguay. The private security company Prosegur sealed agreements with several construction companies to promote the growth of the National Administration of Power Plants and Electrical Transmissions (UTE) and its national network.
The company specified that it will accompany the development of the state-owned company UTE through its offer of services in the various hydroelectric and solar complexes installed in the national territory.
This is the case of the Palmar hydroelectric complex, located on the Negro River, in the department of Soriano, where Prosegur, through an agreement with the construction company Teyma, is installing a fire detection and alarm system. This same system was also implemented in the substation located in José Ignacio, and in the Salto Grande dam, to contribute to the correct and safe operation of these infrastructures.

On the other hand, in the transmission stations of Chamberlain, in Tacuarembó, and in Melo, capital of Cerro Largo, fire detection and extinguishing equipment was provided in collaboration with the CMEC company. A similar action was carried out at the UTE substation in Florida, where an agreement was recently sealed for the installation of all electronic security systems: CCTV system, fire and intrusion detection system, and access control system.
The Punta del Tigre photovoltaic solar park, located in San José, was another of the points where Prosegur signed a contract to offer its services. Through an agreement with the consortium that is carrying out the work, made up of Grupo Saceem and Ingener, the company is installing the electronic security systems of the complex, whose operation marks a significant milestone by generating the first megawatt hours (MWh) of solar energy for UTE.
Thanks to this successful experience, Prosegur Security was chosen by the company Saceem to supply and install the weak current systems at the Suárez hybrid station, in Canelones.
The various works that the company developed for the state-owned company, added to the different agreements made with the main players in the construction sector, were essential aspects to guarantee the success of these hydroelectric infrastructure projects, while strengthening the commitment and capacity of Prosegur Security to face major challenges in the energy sector.
