Genetec presents its Security Center SaaS solution

Genetec presenta su solución Security Center SaaS en Expo Seguridad México

Mexico. The manufacturer Genetec held an event in Mexico City during which it carried out a complete demonstration of its new Security Center SaaS.

The newly launched solution combines enterprise-grade features, an open partner ecosystem, massive scalability, and the highest levels of cybersecurity and reliability. A cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) experience that accelerates deployments and eliminates management and maintenance complexities.

According to the manufacturer, behind the product is a set of cloud-native services built using a microservices architecture. This system offers flexibility through an ecosystem of partner technology and an edge computing platform that is easy to deploy anywhere quickly.

Security Sales spoke with Guillermo Sandoval, Genetec's Sales Director for Mexico, who talked about the introduction of the Security Center SaaS to the market.

What was the main purpose of this demonstration?
G.S.: This event was particularly developed for our partners, many of whom did not have the opportunity to see the product at the global launch, which was last week during ISC West. That's why we made this event customized for them, to be able to show in more detail how it is configured, how it is operated and how they can sell it.

Why is this new solution important to Genetec and how does it differ from similar solutions?
G.S.: Many competitors' offerings are entirely in the cloud. In addition, there is little knowledge about the evolution of the security market: video surveillance systems, access control systems, and how they have merged. There has been a gap with these brands that we can consider as our competition and that is one of the most important points of this launch because it shows all the experience of Genetec, which thanks to its 27 years in the market already knows all the problems that an organization faces when seeking to migrate certain types of services to the cloud. And with this platform, we're trying to solve it.

How has the reception been from customers and people interested in implementing the solution?
G.S.: It's been quite positive. They really like that we continue to have the concepts of a scalable cyber-secure open platform, to an enterprise grade or with the capacity required by any type of user, from 200,000 AAA 4 connections, and with the same development bases that Genetec has, of an open and fault-free platform. I think that has been important and also the correlation of control, access and video systems, which is also something that has been quite liked.

What is the implementation process going to look like? Can people buy it and have direct access to the platform?
G.S.: Subscription is going to be gradual, on a regional scale. At this time, Genetec Certificate Integrators gain access to these tools, both quoting and purchasing, through a gradual transition, as the data centers we have available in different parts of the world are limited. However, the more traction we have in Mexico, the more investments we are going to make and, if necessary, we will choose to have a data center here locally.

Personally, what impressions does this new solution leave you with?
G.S.:  I think it's a feeling of satisfaction because of the optimal coverage of our customers. Many of them choose Genetec in very complex situations, in which a lot of performance, analysis, and shorts reproduction are needed. But, this is a tool that complements Genetec's product catalog as a mid-range solution.
