International. Video technology provider Milestone Systems has partnered with the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) program, taking on the role of Numbering Authority (CNA).
The fundamental purpose of the program is to identify and catalog cybersecurity issues with the collaboration of organizations around the world. This helps IT and cybersecurity experts address and solve these challenges effectively.
Thomas Jensen, Chief Executive Officer of Milestone Systems, stated: "At Milestone Systems, we are committed to cybersecurity transparency across our operations. As the adoption of responsible technology practices is becoming a critical requirement in our industry, we consider it essential that users feel safe knowing that they can trust the video technology they use".
In this way, cybersecurity threats reported through the Milestone website will be logged using CVE identification numbers. In addition, both the vulnerabilities and their respective mitigation measures will be available in the Milestone profile found on the CVE website.
"As a contributor to the CVE program, we will begin publishing vulnerabilities that have already been mitigated, for the knowledge of the community at large. This will allow Milestone to coordinate and resolve potential issues more effectively. This approach will not only strengthen our cybersecurity, but also cement confidence in our XProtect open platform video management software", Jensen concluded.
