International. Milestone Systems announced the integration of its XProtect and Kite systems with a cloud access control developed by the company Genea, achieving a centralized security solution.
XProtect is a local video management solution, while Kite is a cloud-based video surveillance (VSaaS) service. Integration with Genea allows real-time verification of access control status with visual monitoring in Genea's own access control.
"As leaders in our respective fields, we saw a mutual opportunity to join forces and deliver a unique open platform security solution," said Tim Palmquist, vice president for the Americas, from Milestone Systems. "The fusion of Gena's cloud access control with our XProtect and Kite video technologies significantly enriches the security options and features for our customers."
For its part, Genea access control uses cloud technology to facilitate the monitoring and protection of facilities by IT and security teams. By integrating Genea access control with video management systems (VMS) such as Milestone XProtect, as well as video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) solutions such as Milestone Kite, users can respond efficiently and promptly to unauthorized access attempts and other emergency situations.

Thanks to this, the security and IT personnel of organizations can link and visualize the video surveillance material of their facilities, while observing the associated access events, for example, when a door remains open or is opened by force.
In addition, Genea's bidirectional integration with Milestone XProtect offers features such as automatic responses to alarms and remote door operations (including locking, unlocking and quick access authorization) that can be executed from the Milestone Smart Client and have an impact on Genea hardware. It also allows to transfer lists of active users from Genea to the Milestone application, which speeds up the efficient management of user profiles.
