International. 47% of e-security professionals plan to start or implement more cloud security solutions, according to a survey analyzing the state of e-security in enterprises and governments conducted by Genetec.
"As the demand for information processing and storage increases, most businesses will need practical and
affordable ways to meet their electronic security needs. Cloud solutions not only offer you an easier and more agile deployment path, but also help you maintain a strong cybersecurity posture," said Guillermo Sandoval, Mexico Commercial Director for Genetec.
Data breaches aren't just caused by hackers cracking code, they're also possibly due to factors like an employee sharing login credentials with the wrong people.
For this reason, companies should look for cloud security systems that include not only actions such as data encryption, but also strict access controls, two-factor authentication and multiple levels of logging, monitoring and system reporting to proactively identify unusual activity and mitigate potential threats.
With a cloud video surveillance system, only cameras are needed. There are no servers to maintain or install. This means there are fewer entry points for would-be attackers to target. With less vulnerability, businesses are more resilient to attacks.
"Supply chain risks are becoming a major concern. Who you partner with and how they manage their cybersecurity protection can make all the difference in your cyber resilience. Choosing a vendor that adheres to rigorous security controls and prioritizes cybersecurity in the development of cloud solutions is imperative in today's threat landscape."
