International. Vertiv launched an augmented reality app, called Vertiv™ XR, which allows its users to visualize and explore how the installation of a brand equipment would be, in a desired location, before acquiring and installing it thanks to augmented reality
The brand's "first-of-its-kind tool for the data center space" is designed to enable data center operators, IT managers and partners to visualize Vertiv products in the location they would occupy in a given facility.
In this case, virtual rendering is a boon to data center decision makers, as Vertiv says it provides "a convenient tool to plan their space and support them after installation, to improve how the infrastructure will support their IT equipment and affect the physical space."
It is worth noting that this application was created by Vertivy is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
"The introduction of the Vertiv XR app is the latest advancement in Vertiv's widespread and ongoing digitization initiative, as the company continues to focus on the customer experience and expand the resources available to its customers and partners."
In addition, the app was nominated as "Best Digital Transformation Product or Service – Enterprise" at the 2022 Computing Technology Product Awards and received a 5-star rating from IT Channel, who called it "the best augmented reality app tested in 2022."
Cristian Scarpa, vice president of information technology at Vertiv, commented, "With the Vertiv XR app, we will create an experience that connects physical interactions with the digital space. The app enables our customers and partners to make purchasing decisions and have more informed recommendations, to tangibly visualize how new products will interact with their existing environments and explore the details of these products, all from the palm of their hand."

Martin Coulthard, global vice president of demand generation marketing at Vertiv, said, "This type of technology has been used in various consumer applications and has helped homeowners visualize what new cabinets in their kitchen or different exterior coatings in their home would look like, but we've never seen this type of application in data centers. We offer them the opportunity to visualize the equipment before they purchase it, which allows them to purchase Vertiv products with confidence."
So, the purpose of the Vertiv XR app is to guide users through the choice and placement of the product through augmented reality, hence it has an immersive and realistic representation of the product, which allows you to locate it in the place of your preference, whether it is a data center, an office, a lobby or a living room.
In addition, users can view and explore various Vertiv solutions wherever and whenever they prefer, capturing interest after purchase and installation by learning about add-on solutions.
Finally, this novel digitization effort of the company is focused on developing and updating digital assets that better serve customers and partners, as well as cooperate with them on their own terms. "The ultimate goal is to improve the online interactions users have with Vertiv; this will make it easier for them to find what they need when they visit Vertiv.com or use the Vertiv XR app."
