Bogotá has a new Technological Center of Excellence and Simulation in Cybersecurity

Colombia. A Center of Excellence for training on topics related to cybersecurity has been developed by the National Learning Service (SENA) and by the specialist company, Mnemo.

Carlos Mario Estrada Molina, General Director of SENA and Raúl Sánchez, Global CEO of Mnemo, inaugurated this modern space that will allow instructors and trainees of the computer network and software development, perform security activities such as threat intelligence, event correlation, monitoring and response of incidents, cyber surveillance, among others.

"The Center of Excellence will also allow the creation of simulations and exercises such as Red Team and Blue Team, where trainees and instructors through laboratories and real simulations, will seek to attack systems and break defenses to know and apply the knowledge related to cyberattacks and threats," said Carlos Mario Estrada Molina, General Director of SENA.

The rise of teleworking, the digitalization of production processes and the digital transformation of companies has generated a growing demand for trained personnel with knowledge in cybersecurity. This educational environment, located in the Sena Design and Metrology Center in Bogotá D.C., will allow to train apprentices with the skills and abilities to face these needs and thus contribute to digital security, employment, competitiveness and social development of the country.

"With the opening of this practical technological center, Colombia and its apprentices will have at their disposal a specialized space to carry out immersive classes and practice in the same environments that companies have," said Raúl Sánchez, Global CEO of Mnemo.

The opening event was attended by different entrepreneurs and representatives of organizations, including Ángela Vaca Berna, Director of Trade Union Innovation Programs in Asobancaria, who spoke positively about the importance of these alliances carried out by the National Learning Service, "it is very relevant for the private sector and especially for the financial sector, to know that SENA is promoting this type of initiatives that allow the insertion of new people and human talent. to take advantage of the potential of Industry 4.0 and in particular, the cybersecurity ecosystem".

The new training environment adds to the series of initiatives developed through the cooperation agreement between MNEMO and SENA such as training, bootcamps, international certifications and the installation of three specialized laboratories in the regional Capital District, Santander and Antioquia, carried out with the aim of benefiting more than 23,000 apprentices with the knowledge required by the labor market.
