Latin America. The multinational of Swedish origin held its annual conference in which 15 hardware and software development partners showed their innovative products and solutions for the regional market.
On October 26, 27 and 28, Axis Communications brought together multiple partners of its business ecosystem in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America, in Puerto Vallarta (Jalisco), in its Axis Connect and Converge Conference (ACCC) event, in which channels, integrators and manufacturers were able to know the current state of the company, future projections, the innovations and strategies of the recent acquisitions of other companies such as 2N, Citilog and Cognimatics by the Swedish firm.
Through the motto of this edition "Solutions for a smarter and safer world", Axis reviewed the latest solutions and applications presented during this year focused on light sensitivity, color reproduction, the resolution of network cameras and technologies such as Zipstream that allows reducing bandwidth and storage requirements. On the other hand, new market trends such as the Internet of Things (IoT), access control, network speakers and IP video intercoms were also discussed in depth.
"Axis' holistic, scalable equipment and solutions are in line with new market trends in terms of developing a smarter and safer world. Our portfolio covers access control technologies, storage, cameras, video intercoms, applications, sales and pre-sales elements, optimal for all organizations," said Francisco Ramírez, Country Manager of Mexico, Caribbean and Central America.
Ramírez and Larry Newman, North American Sales Director, hosted the ACCC 2016, where guests were able to learn about and experience the products and solutions of 15 Axis software and hardware development partners who held a permanent exhibition. The companies participating in this pavilion were: Tamron, Fluidmesh, Genetec, OnSSi, NVT, Milestone, Agent VI, HID, Netcamara, Aimetis, ISS, Avaya, 2N, Radwin and Panduit.
At this year's retrospective conference, Francisco Ramirez told his partners that it has been a fruitful period as Axis reported double-digit growth. In addition, it announced the increase of the warranty of the products from one year to three years. About the projections for the next five years, he said that they are very encouraging since there are still many opportunities in markets such as retail, health, government and education and for companies that need to adopt IP video surveillance technologies. "There is a pressing need to execute the transition from analog to digital technology in an immediate manner. This transformation undoubtedly brings to small, medium and large companies multiple business benefits that lead to achieving greater efficiency, savings and unprecedented return on investment," said Ramírez.
Larry Newman explained that the market of small and medium-sized companies is a niche of great growth, these represent the majority of the products sold by Axis, and therefore a whole line of cameras and solutions has been designed at affordable prices for this sector. On the other hand, there was a great interest to know first-hand the data analysis capabilities that integrate Axis solutions and that provide intelligence to business leaders for better decision making. Axis also shared with the audience the success story of Empresa Eléctrica de Guatemala S.A (EEGSA), explaining the savings and efficiency results they have obtained by adopting Axis technologies.
This year Axis reported several acquisitions of companies related to the business and that strengthen its positioning. In March, the purchase of Citilog, a provider of intelligent real-time video monitoring for traffic safety in the transport sector, was announced. On the other hand, last May Axis announced the purchase of 2N, the number one firm in the IP intercom branch. In June, it bought Cognimatics, which specializes in real-time people counting and measurement systems to understand customer behavior in the retail sector, with the aim of strengthening Axis' solution offering in the retail market. These acquisitions reaffirm Axis' commitment to developing innovative and easy-to-use products, offering high-value solutions to meet a wide variety of needs in current and future customers.
As a closing of the event, Francisco Ramírez and Larry Newman awarded their partners 18 awards in different categories, including the wholesaler of the year award, given to ANIXTER and the award for the fastest growing wholesaler, which went to ScanSource.
