Spain. Atlético Osasuna of Pamplona in Navarra was the first, which belongs to LaLiga, to implement access to its sports scene through facial recognition. So members of the sports club can enter the El Sadar stadium in a simpler way.
The implementation of this access control technology in the physical facilities took place prior to the match scheduled for Sunday, April 10, where Osasuna won 1 – 0 against Deportivo Alavés. This deployment, a pioneer in Spanish football, was carried out by the Navarrese company dasGate, which recently became the official sponsor of the team. It is important to mention that, at the moment, this new access system is voluntary and joins the other traditional ways of accessing El Sadar, such as the physical card and the digital subscription, which will remain fully operational.
Installation in El Sadar
To date there is only one biometric access lathe installed in this stadium, which is located at door number 7. Once its success is verified, this option will be extended to the other doors, so that in all of them there is at least one lathe.
This union between the football team and the technology company is a strategic alliance that will allow Osasuna to advance in its process of digitization of El Sadar, a relevant issue from the logistical point of view, since the facilities have a capacity of around 20,000 people, who must be guaranteed an agile and coordinated income.
Biometric registration
The registration must be done by each user individually, through their mobile phone, following a series of steps, which includes a photograph of the membership card and the DNI. After that, it is enough to stand at the visible point of the turnstile of door 7 where the system will recognize the person and give him entry without having to repeat the registration. For now only the partners will receive the link for this procedure.
The advantage of this solution is that it offers easy use for users because, once the registration is ready, the biometric scanner takes less than a second, so the dasGate system will generate a very fast entry option.
