Peru. At the beginning of March, Alai Secure organized a working breakfast at the Belmond Miraflores Hotel, in the city of Lima, where professionals from the world of Private Security in this country met. The meeting addressed the current situation of the sector and the impact of new technologies in order to guarantee Security in mission-critical communications.
Xavier Uríos, General Manager of the Official Chamber of Commerce of Spain in Peru, was in charge of inaugurating the event. Xavier highlighted how, despite the moment of uncertainty we are going through, new Spanish companies continue to arrive in Peru constantly interested in investing because of the great growth potential it offers them.

The breakfast was attended by Milagros Céspedes, Director of the Center for Security Studies, who emphasized the need for the sector to professionalize and have updated official data on connected alarms in the country, in order to have a more precise vision of how the sector is regarding the adoption of new technologies and its digitization process, and be able to measure results. Milagros pointed out how, despite the lack of information and such poor data, Peru will experience the fastest growth in Latin America's M2M connections in the next decade, according to a study by 4G Americas.

Mario Mendiguren, Marketing Director of Alai Secure, highlighted in his speech the critical role of the Telecommunications Operator as a key piece to help ensure Security in mission-critical communications in new technological environments -Cloud, IoT, LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT, 5G, Satellite IoT ...-. Mendiguren pointed out the need for security companies to have a technological partner who knows the business, and advises them and helps them deploy new technologies safely, which allow them, in turn, to adapt, improve the final service and address new service scenarios with guarantees.

The breakfast ended with a presentation by Carlos Valenciano, Managing Director of Alai Secure. Valenciano began his speech by showing some data on the exponential increase, indiscriminately, registered this last year, of new cyberattacks, mainly ransomware, to individuals, companies, institutions, critical infrastructures and large corporations, and the cost that these attacks represent, more than 8 trillion dollars in 2021, which is equivalent to 1% of world GDP.

Valenciano pointed out the importance, now more than ever, of strengthening security in communications to face this new scourge. After drug trafficking, cyberattacks have become the second most lucrative illegal business. On this background scenario, Valenciano presented the new Conect3 Anti-Inhibition System for the first time in the region. A secure communications backup system designed to guarantee the security of communications between the deployed alarm and the central systems of the Monitoring Center, against sabotage attempts and malicious attacks by third parties.
In the words of Carlos Valenciano "CONECT3 allows the Monitoring Center to have an additional communication line to the alarm systems it already has deployed and reinforce its service to compete in this new era of connectivity". "The Telco Operator," he continued, "must be a technological partner that works closely with security companies contributing its expertise to guarantee communications and ensure that they are carried out safely."
