The Tyco Live Demo revealed new technologies in video surveillance including radars, AI and Deep Learning

Tyco Live Demo

Latin America. Within the framework of the Tyco Live Demo carried out by Johnson Controls, the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning to its hardware and software-based solutions was presented; technologies that improve the operational performance of devices from the collection of information, experience and learning generated in real time.

One of the most prominent tools that Johnson Controls unveiled to the industry is the use of Deep Learning technology in its Tyco Radar perimeter protection solution that, among other things, allows customers to avoid false alarms in their facilities compared to traditional video analytics. It also supports the monitoring of risk areas for its human resources and facilities, offering an efficient response time even in remote areas.

With the use of Tyco Radar technology it is possible to cover all the areas to be monitored and achieve, in this way, mitigate the risks thanks to the segmentation of the zones in outer perimeter, entrances and exits, interior of the buildings and remote areas.

"This is a perimeter security solution with total precision, whose successful application we can see in Puerto Bahia in Cartagena – Colombia. Its installation, together with the AI applications, have served as the main point of the system for the detection of intruders as well as for the real-time monitoring of the extensive areas of the port, some of the main strengths of Tyco Radar, "says Luis Enrique Bonilla, Business Development Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean of Johnson Controls.

Bonilla also highlighted the importance of analytics: "The analytics with deep learning applied to our solutions, improve the performance of technology by significantly increasing the effectiveness of video surveillance making it increasingly accurate. This represents a great advantage for all our current and future customers, thanks to the fact that Tyco AI is an open solution, which can interact with all our video and access control platforms, giving added value to those who have solutions and equipment already installed."

The facial recognition platform for access control Illustra Insight has a live video matching box and notifications of access events, has two cameras that creates a 3D profile of the rosto, avoiding impersonation, and in conjunction, with the Tyco AI artificial intelligence engine and Software House Access Control, C•CURE 9000, allow to manage access control through facial recognition, agile secure and reliable.

Additionally, it registers multiple faces at the same time to reduce waiting lines, performs people counting for information management, prevents two people from passing together in an access control using the same credential (tailgating) and for this time of pandemic, helps so that security personnel do not have direct contact with the public or the need to use physical cards as a means of identification.

Johnson Control's Tyco AI tools, using Deep Learning algorithms for electronic security, increase productivity and ensure compliance with recent pandemic regulations. It also achieves "people counts and occupancy thresholds", adds multiple inputs and outputs within the entire system. Putting this technology in the day to day of sites such as: banks, airports, hospitals, datacenters, casinos, manufacturing, among other industries present in Latin America, provides actionable intelligence for security, general awareness, operations, data for Business Intelligence and increases the availability of the metrics that drive the services.
