Colombia. The Agora Convention Center of Bogotá hosted the second Strategic Thinking Forum, a space that brought together in person the actors of the security industry including senior government representatives and private companies, heads of corporate security, compliance officers, managers and executives of public and private companies, cybersecurity directors, corporate security directors of utility, financial sector, ports and airports verticals among others.
In the event, which took place from November 22 to 24, different topics were addressed to strengthen knowledge and generate comprehensive security strategies and policies, with the greatest national and international experts, "at a time when we are concerned about insecurity but we do not focus on finding solutions that contribute to generate spaces and adopt actions that give us a better quality of life and thus improve security, this second meeting with leaders of the sector was the ideal opportunity to identify and learn about the advances of the sector, challenges and opportunities not only in Bogotá but also in other cities around the world," said Patricia Acosta, director of the Forum on Strategic Thinking on Integral Security.
Networking spaces
"The forum was the epicenter for the security sector to be reactivated under a business roundtable that was able to create a network of effective contacts for entrepreneurs in addition, to create an enriching experience for visitors with references of the highest national and international level validating that forums like this are of vital importance for our cities confirming that the regions that are safer attract greater public and private investment so that the economic reactivation of a city is linked to security as such". Patricia Acosta said.
Likewise, visitors were able to experience lectures, discussion panels and workshops with topics as important and relevant as technology and citizen security, deterioration of urban security and crime prevention, cybersecurity and cyberdefense policies, strategic role of the National Police, transparency policies and business ethics, corporate security, Security and citizen coexistence and mental health, among others.
Academic agenda
For this second version of the Forum of Strategic Thinking of Integral Security, the academic agenda was designed by the greatest experts at national and international level who held complete lectures, discussion panels and interactive workshops where the challenges, the panorama and the success stories of different countries were addressed. This agenda was attended by renowned speakers such as Rafael Bernal, executive secretary of COLADCA; Emanuel Ortiz, director of operations CSIRT Financiero Asobancaria; Alberto Álvarez, CEO at ALAS; Rafael Padilla, president of the Colombia Chapter at WORLD UAV FEDERATION, among others.
Within the framework of the first day of the forum, the Security Policies Facility was discussed, the Panel Public and Private Security Strategies was held, then the talk Understanding trends and integrating public and private security practices. And so this first day finally ended with the presentation of success stories
Cybersecurity and cyberdefense Need and primary challenge in the different sectors for economic reactivation, the talk on Implementation of security technologies for secure environments, the Panel: Organized crime, its impact on the productive sector and the need for transparency and business ethics policies, were some of the activities that were carried out during the second day.
On Wednesday, November 24, the workshop focused on the Corporate Crisis Management simulated crisis management exercise and providing an orderly methodology for decision making; the drone workshop, the basics, the Indispensable and the new in UAVS operations - Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, their use cases also listed the agenda.
