Latin America. Johnson Controls announced software updates to its victor video management platform and Tyco American Dynamics VideoEdge v5.7.1 that adds enhanced video capabilities and deeper analytics.
This update provides analytics for social distancing control with alerts that indicate when a breach occurs and enhanced analytics for intelligent perimeter protection that allow you to detect objects that remain on a perimeter.
With faster deployment, targeted analytics, and optimized video management control, VideoEdge v5.7.1 now includes intelligent perimeter protection alerts and new rules that allow users to detect objects that remain on a perimeter for a specific time or enter a protected area. The perimeter protection rule measures dwell time in seconds; when an object remains in the subscribed area for a certain period of time or crosses a perimeter and enters a protected area, an alert is triggered.
Since workplace health and safety are currently a priority, VideoEdge v5.7.1 uses existing IP cameras and automated notifications to ensure COVID-19 protocols are respected and issue alerts if social distancing is not respected. These alerts are triggered when individuals or groups do not comply with separation guidelines across workplaces or facility spaces.
VideoEdge analytics count the number of people in a given area and send notifications if people are too close or if they violate the COVID protocols stipulated by the company. They also allow for monitoring inmates and visitors in institutional settings and establishing long-term workspace planning from a health and wellness perspective.
Improvements to intelligent people search capabilities allow operators to access live video from search results, while continuing to search for the person in recorded camera footage.
Other updates include a new action editor in maintenance mode to manage system changes on demand; the ability to hide sensitive areas with customer privacy zones; and increased system security with a new automatic logoff feature, which logs users out of the VideoEdge GUI after a certain amount of time.
Version v5.7.1 also provides new tools to get better control of the Illustra Pro Gen 4 PTZ camera: a drop-down menu for AI-powered person/face detection was added in the intelligent auto-tracking feature and an electronic image stabilization (EIS) algorithm to improve the sharpness of images between frames that are blurred by camera movement.
