RFID Tag Manufacturer, New Acquisition of HID Global

Fabricante de etiquetas RFID, nueva adquisición de HID GlobalInternational. HID Global has acquired the company Omni-ID, manufacturer of RFID tags and industrial IoT physical devices for use in active and passive tags, tracking, monitoring and alerts. This acquisition allows HID to consolidate in the RFID technology market and increase its presence in India and China.

"I am very pleased to welcome Omni-ID to the ASSA ABLOY Group and HID," said Björn Lidefelt, Executive Vice President and Head of HID Global. "Omni-ID is a strategic technology addition to HID and comes to strengthen our current offering of RFID and IoT solutions. With the expansion of HID's sales and manufacturing presence in India and China and thanks to the contribution of Omni-ID, our company will further strengthen its ability to serve local customers, while extending its industrial IoT technology to emerging markets."

Omni-ID offers passive, rugged and long-range UHF (Ultra High Frequency) RAIN RFID tags in various presentations for a wide variety of identification requirements. The company focuses on organizations in the industrial, oil and gas, transportation, among others, sectors that seek resistant UHF RFID solutions to use them in challenging environmental conditions (high temperatures, wind, dirt, explosives and other difficult circumstances).

Additionally, Omni-ID adds passive UHF temperature detection to HID's portfolio of identification technologies and consolidates HID's already vast experience and capabilities in the customization and custom design of RFID solutions.

"The acquisition of Omni-ID supports hid's Identification Technologies division's business strategy of driving trusted IDs by optimizing our portfolio with a broader range of UHF RAIN RFID components and value-added active ID devices, as well as other ways to deliver— as a leading supplier of components for practical RFID uses and IoT applications — solutions with great customization possibilities and a variety of functions for customers," said Marc Bielmann, Senior Vice President and Head of the Identification Technologies Division at HID Global.

With a track record of innovation in RAIN RFID solutions, Omni-ID adds to hid's experienced team, more engineers and key personnel with more than 15 RFID experiences.
