Brazil. The financial group YDUQS implemented new mobile access control solutions from the manufacturer HID Global to integrate them with its existing system in the institutions and allow professors and employees to access the campuses with their mobile devices.
HID Mobile Access solutions and HID readers were used by local integrator Imagem Segurança, whose iControlSmart software unifies the access control databases of the four campuses. The financial group YDUQS installed the readers at the entrances and turnstiles of the universities and issued more than 200 mobile IDs to the iOS® and Android ™ devices of its teachers and employees.
The system manages 40,000 daily access transactions from a centralized platform and enables efficient access to classrooms and campus facilities, significantly reducing system downtime.
"Gone are the complaints because the system or the turnstiles were not working," said Erick Morais Dantas, operations manager at UniFanor University | Wyden in Fortaleza, the capital of the state of Ceará in northeastern Brazil. "Thanks to our new access control system, students and employees no longer have to wait in line for a long time to enter a building because of an outdated system. In addition, the new campus access control solution is easy for our team to manage."
The solution was implemented at two UniFanor university campuses in Fortaleza (Dunas and Bezerra de Menezes), at ÁREA1 University in Salvador and at Ibmec University in Brasilia. The solution integrates seamlessly with the common access control infrastructure of the four campuses and allows officials of academic institutions to have a complete visualization of multiple campuses.

"In today's world, where the mobile experience is prioritized, universities require a flexible, easy-to-use solution that offers benefits that go beyond allowing a person access through a door," said Harm Radstaak, senior vice president and head of Physical Access Control Solutions at HID Global. "HID's Mobile Access solution not only provides convenience to professors and employees on the campuses of the YDUQS financial group, but also offers scalable benefits to the administrators of educational institutions so that they can attend to the new needs that arise at all times."
The financial group YDUQS plans to implement the new access control system in 20 campuses and more locations, it has set the goal of completing the implementations by the end of 2021.
