Argentina. Within the framework of the Municipal Plan for the prevention and assistance of women in situations of gender-based violence, the Municipality of Quilmes implemented the SoftGuard SmartPanics App for the safety of all Quilmeña women.
2,000 panic button applications were delivered for cell phones that allow women to report emergency situations and receive immediate attention from the municipal monitoring center.
The application provides the location and allows you to receive photos and videos of the aggressor or emergency situation in the monitoring center. Additionally, a virtual guardian will accompany her on her daily tours of public roads and will notify the group of people who have arrived well at their home or destination.
The use of technology specially developed for the safety of people allows not only to address the problem of gender violence, but also strengthens the bond between citizens and the municipality, providing them with containment and accompaniment by interdisciplinary work teams.
The use of the application strengthens the security of all the neighbors of Quilmes and brings even closer the fulfillment of the Municipal Plan for Gender Equality.
