Hikvision reveals its new series of HeatPro cameras

HeatPro HikvisionLatin America. Hikvision revealed the launch of its new series of thermal cameras that provide deterrence and alerts that are affordable and capable of operating in all types of weather. This is HeatPro, an especially useful solution for perimeter protection applications that features deep learning thermal video analytics for perimeter protection, object temperature measurement and fire detection with real-time alarms.

In addition, features such as accurate classification of people and vehicles, visual and audible alarms for perimeter protection, and rapid temperature exception alarms for fire prevention, make them ideal for applications in small and medium-sized businesses.

"Designed to bring professional security solutions to the mass market, these cameras provide perimeter protection with unparalleled accuracy and superlatively sensitive fire detection; providing simple professional protection," explains Stefan Li, Thermal Product Manager at Hikvision.

Perimeter defense with AI
By securing a perimeter, greater accuracy and a low rate of false alarms help reduce operating costs. The HeatPro series achieves this thanks to powerful video analytics based on Deep Learning algorithms, which radically reduces false alarms.

The cameras focus on short-range perimeter protection (0-50 meters), where they offer object detection and classification. The use of AI means that cameras can distinguish between a person and a vehicle. This is especially useful when the two objects are very close to each other. They are normally recognized as a single "object", but intelligent algorithms make it possible to detect them separately, increasing accuracy.

Thermal cameras are also capable of easily locating potential threats in low visibility conditions, where a conventional camera is not able to do so. They do this by detecting the latent radiation emissivity of an object, so they do not depend on visible light. This means they can operate under any weather conditions and at the darkest night. They also do not emit light, which means that their presence is not obvious, which makes them perfect in scenarios that require discretion.

The HeatPro series is also designed to install efficiently and quickly, with easy installation in three steps, reducing setup time to 30 seconds. Typically, thermal cameras require specialized engineers to set them up and double-check them, which consumes a lot of time and energy. HeatPro cameras are designed to minimize installation time and effort, so installers can spend more time setting them up correctly for optimal operations and the lowest possible false alarm rates.

Temperature measurement for fire prevention
The HeatPro series is also equipped with the ability to measure temperatures. This process is very useful in a scenario where overheating could lead to fires. The cameras can provide non-contact temperature measurements for fast and visible detection. This means that action can be taken earlier, potentially preventing a fire early on. Cameras can trigger a fire alarm more quickly than a smoke sensor.

The temperature measurement function can also be used to help check for any potential overheating issues and troubleshoot problems.

The series contains a variety of different models and options, including bullet and turret cameras, and bispectral or individual lenses. The cameras can be integrated into a number of solutions, for example, working seamlessly with NVRs, AX PRO alarm systems, and even Hik-Connect for real-time mobile alerts over the phone. And, not least, they can be used in various scenarios, such as residential buildings, offices, construction sites, parking lots, points of sale and warehouses.
