SAFR facial recognition solution released its version 3.4

SAFRInternational. RealNetworks, Inc., unveiled its new update to SAFR, its facial recognition solution for live video, which in version 3.4 introduces new passive life detection and anti-spoofing features for faces with and without masks, to increase the security of facial biometric authentication solutions.

The new version also includes SMS watchlist alarms.

Passive Vitality Detection
Now even more protected against counterfeiting, SAFR's AI-powered vivid detection can quickly (in 0.3 seconds) and accurately verify (95.27% true positive rate) that you are a real, living person in front of any standard RTSP or USB camera, and no photo or video clip is presented. In version 3.4, the SAFR algorithm analyzes texture and context, based on the RGB visual spectrum field of a standard 2D camera, whether it is an IP camera built into an access control terminal, an ATM camera, a USB camera, or a laptop used to authenticate the user.

Ideal for a wide range of applications, such as contactless access control or authentication for applications such as digital wallets or online testing, SAFR's passive vividness detection feature is very intuitive to operate, as users are not required to do anything specific, such as turning their face, look left or right, smile or even take off the mask, if you are wearing it.

A unique feature of SAFR version 3.4 is its ability to automate alerts for security personnel when a phishing attempt or a fraudulent attempt to gain access is detected. The new version also allows security teams to set specific vitality limits. These limits allow you to balance end-user convenience and the specific levels of vitality truthfulness they need, depending on the use case. With SAFR 3.4, users can view the results of video and liveliness analysis in real time or review historical records based on events.

Compatible with any available IP camera, SAFR Passive Liveness Detection offers a low TCO (total cost of ownership) and can be quickly deployed to existing data and networks.

Watchlist Alarms
SAFR now has SMS alert functionality for the Windows platform and also in the cloud. This represents a great solution for small and medium-sized businesses that want to have the ability to set up SMS notifications so that security officers can receive alerts, whether they're on-site or out of the office. SAFR users have the flexibility to set up SMS notifications that are triggered under a set of event conditions, including identification if the person is a VIP, of interest, or if the person is in a specific area.

"The new version of SAFR adds significant new levels of security for access control, authentication for physical access, or validation of a person's identity for eKYC purposes. SAFR's AI-based passive approach works with 2D RGB video streams, supports BYOD (Bring Your Own Device), and dramatically reduces the costs and complexities associated with hardware-based solutions," said Eric Hess, Senior Director of Product Management, responsible for SAFR: RealNetworks Security and Facial Recognition Solution.
