International. Altronix announced that its Tango PoE power supplies/chargers are now UL 294 certified for access control applications, and confirms their approval for end users, architects, and security consultants in mission-critical access deployments.
Tango takes advantage of low-voltage installation methods, eliminating the need for an electrician and laying dedicated wires and conduits. This unique solution offers 12 V DC and 24 V DC simultaneously from any 802.3bt PoE source up to 90 W, such as Altronix Netway injectors. When combined with Altronix stackable subassemblies, Tango can support up to 8 locking devices powered by controllers and auxiliary devices. A single lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery provides support for 12 V DC and/or 24 V DC systems, increasing the systems' return on investment.
"Tango provides system designers and installers with a cost-effective and efficient means to power access control and security devices by employing the latest PoE technology," said Ronnie Pennington, national sales engineer for Altronix Corporation. "Now on the UL 294 list for access control, Tango is documented to operate with the highest levels of reliability and security, providing a plug-and-play option for implementing access control systems."
The Tango series is available in a variety of configurations to meet a wide variety of system applications. All models are equipped with LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) backup battery. Tango's solutions are flexible to suit Altronix subsets including: Altronix PDS8 dual input power distribution modules that distribute 12VDC and/or 24VDC over a total of eight selectable fuse or PTC protected outputs; and Altronix ACMS8 dual input access power controllers that distribute power through a total of eight fail-safe relay outputs protected by fuses or PTCs or fail-protected. As well as network versions of these boards with integrated remote power management.
