International. Prosegur reported that it has selected DotGis, Veridas, Thinger.io, Radio Physics Solutions and Ubirch as the five winning start-ups of the Open Innovation Program Come In, within the framework of the Selection Day that the company held, where a total of 23 Latin American start-ups participated, of which 3 were Colombian.
With this initiative, the company seeks to bring together entrepreneurial talent to respond to five major transformation challenges in the corporate, security, cash management, alarm and cybersecurity fields.
Among the more than 190 start-ups from 33 different nationalities, the selected companies will have the support of the different Prosegur units to develop and implement their projects worldwide.
For prosegur's Director of Innovation, José Daniel García Espinel, "the great reception of the program highlights the dynamism of the start-up ecosystem. Their talent, together with the enormous potential of Prosegur's technological innovation, have turned the challenges of the future in terms of security into real projects that will reinvent the way we protect our environment". In addition, he referred to collaborative models as "the formula for success to, together with prosegur's experience and international projection, incorporate the external talent of startups and accelerate the go to market, thus revolutionizing the security sector."
Among the five challenges posed by the company, DotGis was the winner of the corporate challenge aimed at efficiently using information in both the public and private spheres for strategic decision-making. The start-up, specialized in geospatial analytics, proposes to get the most out of data localization technologies, such as GIS, Big Data and Deep Learning, through maps. This solution allows you to monetize the data to ultimately enrich the information to which the company has access.
On the other hand, Prosegur Alarms posed a challenge to simplify the purchase and management of products or services without human interaction. The winner, Veridas, presented a proposal that consists of using voice biometric technology to identify the client who contacts Prosegur and give him an immediate response.
To improve the efficiency of cash management, Prosegur Cash has selected the proposal of Thinger.io, an automatic smart lock that uses the benefits of IoT technology to establish direct communication between the telephone device and the safe without the need for batteries, keyboards or traditional keys.
Another challenge, aimed at finding security solutions with non-invasive methods for crowded spaces or events, obtained as a response the proposal of Radio Physics Solutions, a sensor system that uses a powerful radar for the remote detection of hidden threats such as weapons or explosives.
Finally, in terms of cybersecurity and the reinforcement of security and trust in the IoT network and its devices, he highlighted the proposal of Ubirch, a solution that uses Blockchain technologies to capture information from IoT sensors and thus protect from possible data manipulation attacks.
