Control Rooms Summit met expectations

Latin America. Control Rooms Summit was successfully held on September 23, a virtual event that had the participation of Absen, Barco and Unilumin as sponsors, and ALAS as a strategic ally.

During the day, attendees had the opportunity to participate in seven academic presentations, visit the stands of the exhibitors and meet to hold one-on-one appointments with speakers and sponsors, as well as networking with other colleagues. The event managed to gather more than 100 participants per session.

Guillermo Sandoval, from Barco, one of the sponsoring companies of the day, stressed that "it was very positive. We like to be at events where we can give an educational communication, as well as analyze the challenges of the clients. We had a lot of feedback with our customer base from all over Latin America."

On the behavior of the control room sector in the region, he commented that although there are projects that have been affected by financial issues due to the devaluation of local currencies during the pandemic, which have impacted the cost of technologies, Barco reports growth with respect to 2019.

"At Barco we remain focused on improving the user experience, with the development of solutions and offering new tools. Among them are video processors and cloud collaboration solutions, and we continue to improve our video solutions with three bets: cubes, LEDs and Liquid Crystal," said Guillermo Sandoval.

For his part, Lucas Crantschaninov, from Unilumin, another of the sponsoring companies of the day, also described the experience as positive, being able to reach an audience from all over Latin America interested in the control room sector.

He stressed that the company's bet is the control rooms and since 2012 they were among the first manufacturers to bet on LED technology for this sector. In addition, he celebrated that this year they managed to be the first supplier of LED screens in Latam, consolidating their position they already have as a manufacturer in Europe and Asia.

This year the company has participated in important projects in Latin America, including the air control room of the Mexico City airport in which they installed a screen of 40 square meters, in which they required a high fidelity of colors for the operation. Another project is the Panama Canal incident management center, where they installed a 15-square-meter display with HDR to ensure operation at night.

Finally, he recalled that Unilumin has joined as a preferred supplier to ConsorcioTec, the first purchasing group for integrators in Latin America, in order to provide access to cutting-edge solutions independent of the size of the project, with a fair price and all the support of the manufacturer, although they always work through the local channel.

We invite you to stay tuned for the upcoming virtual summits organized by the magazine Ventas de Seguridad.
