Absen LED screen for video surveillance in construction machinery factory

Pantalla LED AbsenInternational. LED display solutions manufacturer Absen recently installed an LED display for SANY Group. With Absen's new indoor fixed installation LED product for APAC and LATM regions, the KL series, this video wall was built as part of China's national strategic initiative to further develop the manufacturing sector, "Made in China 2025".

The 5G display terminal is located in the 18th factory of SANY Group, a smart manufacturing workshop in Changsha. In collaboration with partners ZTE and Huawei, SANY Group has jointly developed 5G smart manufacturing applications that showcase the revolutionary impacts of 5G on industrial production. The main company of SANY Group, SANY Heavy Industry was founded in 1994 and is the largest manufacturer of construction machinery in China and the fifth largest in the world. It is also the largest manufacturer of concrete machinery in the world.

SANY Heavy Industry faces complex challenges in network security, service centralization, and physical environment. Existing wired and wireless private networks cannot meet such demanding communication requirements, creating an urgent need for high-bandwidth, low-latency, high-reliability, and easy-to-deploy networks to provide connected, intelligent operational support for smart manufacturing. .

Capable of handling 5G, the newly installed display displays two video streams of HD surveillance data, which are then transmitted and distributed to a campus monitoring center using Multiple Access Edge Computing (MEC) over the 5G network.

5G data creates high-level requirements for the display terminal and the KL series can meet all of them. The 2.5mm pixel pitch LED display can display a series of real-time operating images in HD, helping operators monitor critical activity at the factory, including components transported through suspension systems and robotic arms that handle product materials.

With high brightness, grayscale, contrast ratio and refresh rate levels, Absen's newly launched KL series is suitable for a wide range of commercial and home applications. By using turnkey LED displays instead of components that need to be assembled on site, the KL series not only helps save time and labor, but also improves the final quality of a project.

Commenting on the installation, Absen project manager Leon Liu said: "Very large exhibition areas bring great challenges to the overall uniformity, flatness, stability and even lifespan of the facility. Our products are calibrated after going through a series of critical product tests, ensuring high visual uniformity over time and maintaining product life at the component level. KL panels are also made of fine die-cast aluminum, further ensuring the flatness of the overall display for excellent visual impact."

Safety and maintenance were also key factors, since the LED videowall is installed in a steel structure 5 m from the ground. With a depth of only 70 mm and a weight of only 7.8 kg per panel, the KL series was perfectly suited to this project. It also offers installation and maintenance at the front and rear, and its design integrates PSU (power supply units), cables, receiver cards and other key components.

Absen has already worked with SANY Group in the past, when the company installed two 1.2 mm pixel pitch screens of 30.12 m2 and 7.53 m2 respectively in the conference and reception rooms of SANY Heavy Industry, with Absen A2712 and CR1.2 products.

Terry Zhu, product manager at Absen, concluded: "Pixel fine tone is a growing trend for many new projects and, as a leading company with a global reputation, SANY embraces this trend. Their user experience is extremely positive. We are proud to be part of this pioneering 5G deployment, with products that perfectly meet the drastic requirements of 5G."
