Quanergy integrates 3D LiDAR with Genetec Security Center

Quanergy Systems, a provider of LiDAR (light wave detection and measurement) sensors and intelligent perception solutions, announced the first commercial integration of AI-powered 3D LiDAR solutions with Genetec's unified security platform, Security Center.

Integrated solutions will provide advanced people flow and occupancy management in smart spaces as well as increased threat detection and surveillance in high-security environments.

Quanergy's high-performance, AI-powered 3D LiDAR solution will be integrated into Genetec's unified security platform, and will enable its use in several specialized Security Center modules, including Restricted Security Area (RSA), Passenger Flow Analysis (PSA), and Occupancy Management Package to help automate security applications, people counting and social distancing. Adding Quanergy's 3D LiDAR technology and data flow sensor to Genetec's Security Center provides greater real-time accuracy for a clearer reading of actual traffic from people entering a location, occupancy and proximity in a wide variety of industrial applications from transit systems, airports and industrial facilities to public service businesses, including banks and retailers.

"Quanergy's LiDAR flow management solutions bring a new level of real-time 3D analysis, making them ideal for any environment where high accuracy and operational intelligence are critical," said Enzo Signore, Chief Marketing Officer at Quanergy. "Our tight integration with Genetec's unified Security Center platform enables a single level of automation of many applications across retailers, critical infrastructure, airports, seaports, enterprises and smart cities."

"We are excited to integrate Quanergy's 3D LiDAR flow management solutions into Genetec's Segurity Center," said David Lenot, Product Leader for Airports at Genetec. "By bringing their 3D LiDAR sensor data to the traffic and passenger flow modules on our unified platform, we are helping airports and other organizations address urgent needs, while also gaining new insights into their security operations."

Quanergy's AI-powered LiDAR solution accurately and truthfully controls large areas in real time and across diverse environments without compromising people's privacy. The new integrated 3D LiDAR solutions will provide:

• More than 98% detection accuracy: Quanergy's people counter, QORTEX, accurately detects the number and direction of people entering and leaving common areas. The accuracy of QORTEX People Counter is significantly higher than that of a camera-based system.

• Considerable reduction of false alarms: Quanergy's QORTEX DTC solution significantly reduces false alarms typical of camera systems due to its advanced ability to detect, track and classify objects.

• Between 5 and 20 times lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than camera systems due to extremely wide (360 degree) and long range (40 to 70 m) coverage. A single sensor can cover the area upwards of 8000 m2. This wide coverage area also reduces installation and wiring costs.

• Important 3D and real-time data: Quanergy's flow management solutions provide centimeter-level accurate information about the number of objects, their spatial location, direction and speed. Quanergy solutions can also detect distance between people to accurately monitor and manage social distancing policies.

• Protection of privacy without compromising or storing private personal information -PII-. LiDAR solutions do not use facial recognition technology or require user acceptance, so they guarantee the anonymity of people and do not pose any risk of PII.

• Reliable and scalable: Works in all lighting and atmospheric conditions, so security systems can operate effectively 24/7.
