Latin America. HID Global has already launched its plan for the expansion of its Fargo Connect service to all countries in the region.
Fargo Connect is a platform that simplifies the operation and support of high-volume ID card issuance in organizations, and is comprised of a centralized system that combines hardware, software and services with cloud technology in a secure and integrated manner.
"HID Global developed the cloud ID card printing system, a platform that leverages the existing ID handling system and combines with the cloud to deliver an agile experience, from design to card printing," said Hugo Treviño, HID Global's Regional Director of Secure Issuance Sales for Mexico and Central America.
"The goal of this model is to offer Latino companies a platform with which they can capture and store a database, and at the same time establish a remote connection with a printer; in this way, they will be able to send print jobs from a smartphone, a tablet or a computer," concluded Treviño.
On the other hand, Fernando Loret de Mola, Commercial Director of SIASA, a company that is already offering this service in Mexico, assures that "being able to have a system in the cloud to send to print credentials remotely, capturing data from a tablet or mobile, accelerates processes and lowers costs because you have a more efficient use of resources".
Organizations around the world are increasingly looking to create more streamlined and agile experiences in their work environments. This is how companies are processing their data in the cloud to a greater extent.
With Fargo Connect, organizations can eliminate multiple layers of program costs, gain efficiency in the issuance process, and easily scale to accommodate future technology or volume demands.
This credential printing service model has already been implemented in the United States, and thanks to the benefits generated, both to integrating companies and end users, it has been recognized by different institutions.
• In 2017, the technology won the SSI Security Solutions Award for its successful deployment at Kent State University (Ohio). FARGO Connect received this recognition for simplifying the way the university manages its high-volume ID card issuance requirements; a key issue given that staff use the credential for many processes from paying for campus services and meals to taking books out of the library.
• In 2018 the technology received the award from the magazine Campus Security and Life Safety, which gave it the "Safe Campus" award in the category of Cloud Solutions and Services.
