Mexico. Finally, and as a result of COVID-19, Reed Exhibitions Mexico made the decision to postpone the events of Expo Seguridad México and Expo Seguridad Industrial, which were scheduled from April 21 to 23, to now be held from August 18 to 20 at Centro Citibanamex.
In a statement, the organization explained that the announcement was made after extensive consultation with relevant industry stakeholders, and is aligned with the recommendations issued by Mexican public health authorities regarding travel to and from affected countries, as well as restrictions for events that bring together more than 5,000 people.
In this regard, Jorge Hagg, director of the event, mentioned: "Our feelings are with those affected by COVID-19. The decision to postpone the event was difficult; our customers, partners and staff have worked diligently to make this edition of Expo Seguridad a reality. However, our priority is to safeguard the health and safety of everyone who is part of the event. We are confident that our events will continue to meet the highest standards that participants expect and we will provide an industry-relevant service: we will offer opportunities for business, collaboration, education, and create ways for the security community to connect, keeping the industry moving forward during this difficult time."
Hagg further stated that "on behalf of Reed Exhibitions, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all exhibitors, partners, attendees, suppliers, media and staff, for their support and messages during this difficult time; we look forward to welcoming the global electronic, physical and industrial security community to Mexico City in August."
