International. The 2019 Safe Cities Index (SCI) of The Economist's Intelligence Unit ranked 60 destinations worldwide in terms of digital security, health, infrastructure and personal safety.
Tokyo again ranked first overall, with Cities in Asia and the Pacific accounting for six of the top ten. As it did in the previous SCI, Tokyo has the highest overall score on the index. Other cities in the top 10 are Singapore, Osaka, Sydney, Seoul and Melbourne. Two European cities are in the group, Amsterdam and Copenhagen, while two from America complete it, Toronto and Washington, DC.
Latin America has several cities within the Top 60 such as Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Lima, Quito, Bogotá, among others.
The safest cities in the world for 2019, according to SCI:
