Hikvision gathered its customers to present news of its Safe City solution

Mexico. On August 29, Hikvision presented the latest developments of its Safe City vertical solution, which has a series of advanced technologies and several security subsystems to safeguard industries, centralize operations and integrate security platforms. The event was held at the brand's offices.

With urban populations increasing around the world year after year, developers of smart city projects are looking for ways to create increasingly smart, efficient and sustainable solutions.

An overview of video surveillance in Mexico**, Mexico City was a pioneer in the country in the use of video surveillance through the "Safe City" program, through which more than 8,000 surveillance cameras were installed in the metropolitan area between 2009 and 2012, as well as an emergency control center and the training of officials to operate the system. The first phase of the program cost approximately $760.8 million.

The commitment of large cities is to have a comprehensive security system that provides them with total surveillance, covering more dangerous areas, with instant alert reports and, above all, integrated and interconnected to public security services. One of the key features of Hikvision's Safe City solution is its ability to help authorities manage traffic and control vehicles. In this way, road safety and a smooth trip are guaranteed, as the system can detect violations and behavior for a more detailed analysis, for example:

  • Driving in the opposite direction.
  • Lane change not allowed.
  • Parking not allowed.
  • Speed violation.
  • Seat belt unfastened.

For his part, Luis Ordoñez, Director of Business Development Center-South zone of Hikvision Mexico, comments that the analysis of big traffic data predicts it in advance to avoid traffic jams, in addition to carrying out effective signal control and orientation:
