International. Hikvision unveiled its new Deep Learning Turret bispectral thermal camera, with enhanced indoor fire detection capabilities, including advanced temperature anomaly alarm and visual warning. This new camera (DS-2TD1217/V1 Series) reduces fire risks and property loss.
Bispectral imaging technology
Hikvision's Deep Learning Turret thermal camera enables fire detection using high-quality hardware internal components to capture images using visible light and infrared light – "bispectral" imaging technology.
Bispectral imaging technology creates a preview of both images on the same screen and along with the fusion of images, can capture what caused the alarm and help staff check the situation quickly. It monitors across a single channel, reducing bandwidth and simplifying the live preview procedure and switching between thermal and optical channels.
The bispectral image fusion feature also provides more image detail in different environmental circumstances, making it easier to search for hidden objects and document unusual events.
The camera's image processing technology combines multiple processing techniques to create the best thermal imaging results. It also uses a "noise equivalent temperature difference" (NETD) of less than 40 mK (this is a measure of how well a thermal imaging detector distinguishes between differences in minutes of thermal radiation within an image). This means that the smaller the temperature difference detected by the camera, the lower this value and the better the image.
Temperature anomaly alarm
This new thermal camera also features a reliable temperature anomaly alarm, which triggers an alarm if the temperature is above a limit set by the user. This setting effectively improves the ability to pre-alert before a fire occurs, and can alert security personnel to eliminate hidden hazards before the temperature reaches ignition or combustion.
In practical application, it can help detect smoking behaviors, especially in areas that have a clear smoking ban, such as shopping malls or strictly prohibited, such as oil deposits. Thanks to effective alarms, staff can find and stop the person before they start smoking to reduce environmental pollution or avoid potential fires caused by the lit cigarette.
Reducing false alarms with Deep Learning
In addition, the camera contains a built-in GPU to run the deep learning algorithm and effectively assist in indoor monitoring and detection of illegal intrusions. Its intelligent video content analysis technology can help reduce false alarms by filtering out interference factors, such as changes in lighting or the movement of animals in the field of view. Only real threats trigger alarms, which makes security measures much more efficient and prevents unauthorized access.
Equipped for dual service (fire detection and intrusion detection), this camera is highly recommended for use in fire detection and indoor intrusion detection solutions, especially in application scenarios such as warehouses, museums, data centers and banks. The wide viewing angle (up to 90 degrees) along with relatively small and well-designed housings, make these cameras easy to install and use.
